Another year and another decade has come and gone. 2010 is on her way in and so many people have resolutions for the new year. As I spoke with friends over the last few days, I was reminded that the completion of a resolution or acheivement of a goal is guaranteed to happen if you just have faith. Faith not only in self, but in whatever higher being you believe in. Faith prompts action, and action prompts results...do you see where I am going with this? In short, live your life like you have already gotten to your epitome. If your goal is to buy a home this year, start buying your decorative items, appliances and furniture (or at least window shop and pinpoint which ones you will select once you close). If your goal is to lose weight, go ahead and buy that fabulous dress that you WILL fit into for the big event. If your goal is to get married and have a family, live each day like you are just waiting for your spouse and kids to come home. Call it "The Secret", "Positive Thinking", "Power of Prayer"..... but know that it works.
Congratulations on the completion of 2009 and another decade! Welcome to 2010 - Be Encouraged, Be Inspired, Take Action and Live your life like it's Golden !

Trust! Do not Fear!
Okay so my faith is seriously being tested. Monday morning I found out that my position is being eliminated effective 11/1. Talk about a tailspin. Like most of America that has been affected by this economy, I am freaking out at the possibility of running out of $$ before I find my next position --- and this is VERY Possible. A friend of mine reminded me that as cliche as it may seem, everything happens for a reason and the path is set for your life before you can even think of the plan. So... that being said, I have to Trust God rather than fear the unknown because it is already known (just not to me)....
So depending on how long this situation lasts, looks like I'll be turning my house into a daycare/school for the kids (mine). Circle Time, Arts & Crafts, Phonics, Math, Lunch & Recess - Khi and I will have a schedule from 9-12 while L J is at school and once he is home it will be Naptime/Mommy Time. Okay, that is just Plan A... at least it'll save us a good amount of $$ for the month.
Alright good folks, have a good night and remember Trust over Fear!

In the quest to redeem myself, I was introduced to a program called Compass. Compass provides a personal coach for each woman to focus on any of or a combination of the following areas: Health & Wellness, Self & Life Balance, Money & Career, Relationships, and even Spirituality. any area they choose. What is even more awesome is that in January, there will be coaching available for teenage girls focusing in those same areas but addressing those teen issues.

Happy Easter
It's Easter Sunday and I hope everyone is having a blast. I am sure for almost everyone dinner today will be a great setback on the road to redemption. I decided to forego the heavy meat and we are doing a turkey roast with rice and veggies. Fairly simple and followed by dessert - Weight Watchers Smart Ones Strawberry Shortcake. However whatever you choose for dinner, don't deprive yourself - just remember "Everything in Moderation"
We took the boys swimming today for the second day in a row. They had a blast and we finally got LJ to go under water. He was afraid for the longest time but he lost his toy and was determined to get it. Swim lessons are definitely a necessity before this summer ends.
Well, I will keep posting throughout the week to track the progress.

Taking the Journey
I guess we can all relate to waking up one day and realizing that we have packed on the pounds. Although logically I know this did not happen overnight, I can’t say that I paid attention to the constant signs (tight jeans, easy exhaustion, loss of flexibility – cracking joints, back pain…yada, yada). I just figured it came with age…did I mention, I had just turned 30. My closet was unbelievably full of clothes that looked so foreign to me. Cute outfits that I never wore or hadn’t worn in at least 3 years but had refused to throw out because I was really not in tune with the reality that things had gotten way out of hand. As a matter of fact, I was more in touch with my husband’s reality because I could see his transformation (much like mine), and I was trying to get him out of denial. I figured, I KNOW I gained weight, but he doesn’t think he looks a speck different than the day we met. My mission was to bring him back to my reality. I guess I didn’t want to feel like I was the only one who needed help and the more he refused to jump onboard, the more it frustrated me to no end.
Recently, I came to a revelation, it may have actually been in church one day – the pastor said something to the effect of if you are in a union and your partner is not in line with your beliefs or going to church, etc, you should keep practicing your faith, lead by example but not force your lifestyle on them. Eventually, they will inquire because something will be different. I apply the same theory to getting your body back… I started changing my habits and miraculously, he has lost more than me in 2 weeks! Not fair, but hey… he’s a dude, what do I expect.
Anyway, my goals would be to drop 50-60lbs. Really, even if I am not concentrating on pounds, I would be good if I could fit in those size 7/8 jeans in the back of my closet. Right now, I am in 14’s so gotta take one step at a time.
Tightening the ab area, legs and arms definitely.
I am trying to reclaim that confidence I once had. I do not want to be one of those people who constantly tell stories about their glory day and people look at their old pics with such shock and amazement as if to say “ …There is NO WAY that could be you”. Yes, I have gotten that reaction a few times… so on that note, it is TIME to REDEEM myself!
